I've been trying to book a flight on line at Jet Airwasy website since this moring! the system would give me two types of error messages:

when I enter credit card details, on one card it says:

Quote

ENG-AM-053
Credit Card Number Problem
"Due to security reasons we are unable to process this card. Please contact the airline ticketing counter along with the original card. For more info, please write to info@jetairways.com"
on the other:

Quote

We are sorry your ticket could not be issued.
This may be due to credit card failure or failure in the link with the card association.
Please note your credit card will not be charged.

Your reference number for this reservation is: [XXXXXX]
To have your ticket issued please contact:
• Your local Jet Airways office (for passengers booking in India)
• info@jetairways.com (for passengers booking from outside India)

so I called their call centre in Delhi TWICE and both times they offered me to try booking again OR book via phone but quoted me signficantly higher fare than on-line discounted fare.

Honestly, is this the Best Indian Airline? they drive me crazy!!

any ideas?

PS I am booking US fare as appropriate, he-he...

Have you tried making your booking through www.makemytrip.com? It will give you a choice of airlines as well as the best price available.

Jet is a good airline, but among the most expensive!

If you're having problems booking, why not try a different airline, and maybe get a much better fare?

hey guys, thanks for the replies
makemytrip.com does not even load today...
I tried my favourite zuji.com.hk but they only show higher priced JetAirways ticket (as quoted by them on the phone)
re other airlines, I have gone through the list already and due to various considerations I really want to book with Jet their web-discounted USD fare -which at least theoretically should be available for me to book!!
I fly to Bagdogra, and it's only Arir Deccan (not reliable), Indian Airways (delays, poor service) and Jet. I have very tight schedule so I need a reliable airline that does not cancel or delay flights at their whim.

SEARCH RESULTS for Delhi - Bagdogra, Round trip in Economy Class on All Airlines
No Records Available.

  :D

no, not victum of dual pricing, I don't think so (I already chosen USD fare) - actually many airlines only give discounted fares via on-line booking, but unlike jetairways.com, their on-line booking facilities actually work!! the Jet Airways seems to be crap, excluse my French!!
I tried again just now, same reply

These guys are an option... http://farechase.yahoo.com/

Their starting rate is about US$560 for jet so not too sure if it is budget or too much..

Checked jet air and their fare is around US$ 360... so no comparison :-/

that's precisely the point. anywhere other than JetAirways own website the fares shows over USD500 (including their HKG agent) but JetAirways site (USD 337 fare) has technical problems.

BUT I have just booked Jet for USD 308!! on expedia.com. USE IT!    :D

There is a saying in Mahabharatha... called Urvasi Shapam Upakaram...

In other words "curse of Urvasi is a boon", by which a curse was used by Arjun to the advantage of Pandavas in the epic..

Now due to technical errors, you care saving US$ 29

VV -

Glad the issue is resolved. It might have been a website problem as the discussion here focused on, but it could also have been a denial from the credit card company/issuing bank. They do data mining to flag exceptions on transactions that do not fit your regular charge pattern - and often hold back the approval. I've had my credit charges denied in India - because the credit card company suspected a fraud. You would be best advised to let your bank know the dates and general area of travel beforehand to avoid this scenario.

All the best!
