Map My India has a new Beta version of its online map of India at:
http://www.mapmyindia.com/
This new version allows you to zoom in/out, drag the map with your mouse to see adjacent parts, double-click on map to re-centre.
Right click on the map for the menu.
Detail is pretty good!
