Abbot Mount is approached from Lohaghat and it is about 60 km from Lohaghat.
It is a place of exceptional beauty and offers a panoramic view of the northern Himalayan ranges. Situated amongst thick forests of oak and deodar, Abbot Mount is one of Kumaon's idyllic hill resort for peaceful secluded holidays.
There are number of spectacular bungalows built during the British Raj. Close by is the bungalow which once belonged to the Abbots amidst the deodar trees that they had planted.
I don’t think you need to worry of it being close to Nepal border.
