Fascinating account of an archeological dig at the Mahtab Bagh, the pleasure garden which was created as an integral part of the Taj complex, but on the opposite bank of the Yamuna River.  It dispells once and for all, the myth that Shah Jahan intended this to be the site of his own mausoleum.

This a scholarly book, but very accessible and is beautifully illustrated.  An enchanting insight into the creation of the worlds most glorious building.

I got mine second hand here...

Off to amazon for me, then.  Sigh.  Another book ... just what I need ...
