Yes it must be boring for the regulars on here, but each trips are independant.
Basically the school I wil work for will pay for my food and accommodation and will arrange for local sightseeing.
How much do you suggest I take, bearing in mind I may stya in Delhi/Mumbai for a while (beginning and end) or travel to globally recognised attractions of India.
How much would you take
How much money should I take?

Take your ATM card and withdraw money as you need it.
You could also take some cash.
I have paid Rs.400/- a night for a hotel, and I have paid Rs.35,000/- a night. The amount of cash you take depends on your lifestyle, but as a rule of thumb, your money will go 5 times as far as it does in the UK.

Thats a shade over 950 rupees a day, a nice rounded budget which you will manage quite nicely on!! We spend roughly that for two whilst in India!!

Yes, especially as Dan Wood said his local accommodations and meals were being paid for by the school he'll be working for. (Just don't expect to stay at The Imperial when you visit Delhi
