Hi Anju, it depends what means of transport you intend to use, obviously by car the trip would be very easy, by local bus not very comfortable but still doable. The journey to Badrinath & Gangotri is straight forward by bus, Yamunotri & Kedarnath both involve either walking or pony or being carried in a basket (dooley) by porters for the last leg of the jouney & it's all uphill.
It depends what time of year you plan to do it but please note Kedarnath can be verreeee verreeeeee cold anytime of year.

Dear Anju,
I suggest doing this in September. Avoid the peak pilgrim season in May & June. It rains occasionally in summer where as the weather in September is dry, blue sky & all that.
As KK has written it depends on how you intend to travel.
You may get in touch with GMVN, they organise this Yatra.

Hi,
I did it but not Char (4) Dham. It was Tin (3) Dham for me.
We didn’t visit Yamunetri. And my itinerary was:

As Jyoti da says weather is just perfect during Sept / Oct. you can understand from my travel (Gangotri + Kedarnath + Badrinath) pix: http://www.ringo.com....html?tag=g6jt2

And nice pix, Arya.

Thanks Somnath. it ws a fantastic trip, lots of memories.
and Anju,as everyone says, better to avoid the rush in the summer & go in sept.
in ur case,I think its better to get in touch with GMVN & be a part of their tour.that way u wl save time as well as the trouble of arranging everything.

Hi Anju, Where are you based? or setting off from? & what time of yr are you going? Tell us more about yourself! You'll probably have to stop o/night at Gaurikund (Hot Springs) on the way to Kedar.I would also recommend a quick stop at Rudraprayag to see the confluence of the rivers, although overnight is not neccessary due to your shortage of time. Joshimath is a good stopover base for visiting Badrinath, you can set off from Joshimath early morning see Badrinath then head back for Joshimath by late afternoon. KK

I fully agree with KK. The confluence at Rudrapryag is great. Two rivers with two hues meeting here. A sunrise here is awsome.
