Hello,
I'll be in India during the next month and I'm thinking to bring back to Barcelona a pashmina shawl as a present for a bride. Two years back I bought two in Leh but now I'm not going to be in Ladakh neither J&K so I was thinking in buy it on my last stop: Delhi.
So, can somebody tell me where in Delhi I can find nice pashmina shawls and which price I'll be quoted for a plain one? I supose J&K emporium (do somebody know if I can use my VISA card there?) in Baba Kharak Singh Marg wil be one place to but I'm not completely sure if it's the best bet.
Thanks in advance,
uribaba

Forget the emporiums, you'll get ripped off worse there than from a street seller.
Either go to Janpath where you will find thousands of them or Dilli Haat but be sure to offer way below the asking price!
A plain one doesn't mean a lot really.
A genuine pashmina is only made from the Kashmir Mountain Goat and it depends which part of the goat is used for the wool.
Of course they call lots of scarves pashmina now, silk, rayon, viscose but none of those are the real thing.
If it is genuine and pretty plain then you should get it for around rs1500.
Cheers

Smoked for 25 years but now not smoked since 13th Jan. Am I now a non smoker, a smoker who doesn't smoke or an ex smoker? Do I have to even have a title, can I not just be a 'me'? Has not smoking made me crazy?, probably!

Thanks malkers and jorge!
I already know that emporiums will quote a higher price but as wasn't sure about whereelse to get them as I know I can end buying a good fake. Dilli Haat sounds nice as everybody talks about it and I haven't visit it yet but I think I'll try this shop in Karol Bagh as I also want to see that area (it seems like a little better paharganj lodging option and I'll like to check it).
