So, finally, my 3 year old nephew gets admitted to a small play school. As is generally the case here, it's run by a person out of their house with a few ayahs.
First day, things go off well with a few sobs that he can't see anyone familiar near by. His Grandmother nearby for 2 hours, he plays with the rest of the kids with continual glances to check whether "Patti"(grandma in Tamil) is still in the room.
Next day, a bit bolder, he explains to the teacher in his mix of broken English, Tamil and loud 'aaaa's(for words he doesn't know) with hands on his hips about his dad. Encouraged by the teacher, he confidently talks gibberish and proudly bashfully grins when he finishes talking to an adult who gives him full attention.
Third day, the teacher hands out small balls of putty and asks the kids to roll/make chappatis. so, the girls in his class dutifully watch the teacher and solemnly go about mimicking her.
What does Junior do? Well, he rolls the putty into a long threadlike thingy, lunges at the girls, shouting
"zzzzzzz...snake, snake"
Cue, 2 wailing girls and 1 smug Junior who watches the mayhem grinning.
I tell you, he's a Calvin wannabe.

Just wait until the girls plot their revenge.............
'Their people will judge them on what they can build and not what they destroy.
