Delhi is too big and commuting isn't so easy. So can you tell us where will you be staying? We can then suggest some places not too far.
Delhi is known for Chats, Choley Bhature You can try these at Nathu's. If you are staying near CP you can go to Bengali market where you will find Nathu's. Near Pahargunge you will find the famous Sitaram Chhole Bhature wallah.
For lunch I would strongly recommend Govinda's Restaurant ISKCON Temple Complex, Sant Nagar Main Road (110065) (at east of Kailash)

Chanakyapuri is upmarket place, starred hotels are near by. Dilli Haat is not very far. There are food stalls from all states there and handicraft stalls too. Quite a nice place to take your family.

Thanks,Jyotida.
Dilli Haat was nice. Got introduced to Momos. Kokum Sherbat from Maharashtra, ordered Arunachal noodles (forget name) but stomach gave in! Also went in a real dhab, reminded me of college days!
