Two weeks ago, a lone insane voter — in the AP — had Texas at #1. After back-to-back Texas losses (and countless sideline Mack Brown mirrored-palm claps in vain), the LP Poll (and all other polls) justifiably has the Longhorns out of the list for the first time in half a decade. Feels good doesn’t it?
Meanwhile, Bama maintains its #1 with its crushing defeat o’er the Gators, and Michigan State — and their cute white Spartan on kelly green helmet — make their first LP Poll appearance. Nevada, by the way, lurks at #17. Will Week 6 be Nevada Week?
Pollsters this week include: Karla Zimmerman (who admits favoring Boise because a Bronco could beat up a Duck, off the playing field), Ryan Ver Berkmoes (who touted MSU first), Adam Skolnick (who touted Nevada first), Scott Stampfli (who eyes Miami) and Robert Reid(who ‘watched’ OU-Texas by ESPN GameCast from Tryavna, Bulgaria — as painful of four hours as can be spent with or without technology).
1. Alabama — four of five #1 votes amongst LP pollsters.
2. Ohio State
3. Oregon
4. Boise State
5. Oklahoma — jumps TCU on heart-attack stand-out against Texas.
6. TCU — worse schedule than Boise’s, pollsters agree.
7. Nebraska
8. Auburn — The state of Alabama is king of football, with two teams repping the Top 10.
9. Arizona
10. Utah
11. Arkansas
12. LSU — it’s official: Les Miles needs to change name to Fewer. No one wins uglier, over and over and over again.
13. Michigan State
14. Florida — number of football fans outside Gainesville who didn’t enjoy seeing that ‘Tebow jump pass’ get picked in the endzone: zero.
15. Michigan — yay, you have a great quarterback; just waiting for a team better than Indiana to barely beat.
16. Iowa — hey Ashton & Demi were watching them a couple weeks ago; awesome.
Hidden track: Nevada
–> Pollsters this week include: Chicago author Karla Zimmerman (who admits favoring Boise because a Bronco could beat up a Duck, off the playing field), Great Lakes author Ryan Ver Berkmoes (who touted MSU first), Nicaragua author Adam Skolnick (who touted Nevada first), Oakland staffer Scott Stampfli (who eyes Miami) and Great Plains/NYC author Robert Reid(who ‘watched’ OU-Texas by ESPN GameCast from Tryavna, Bulgaria — as painful of four hours as can be spent with or without technology).
