No word on the guy yet. Apparently my friend and his Mom have discussed, but nothing official is set up for meeting. I do not know if this is because my American friend does not know how to proceed, because this is his family's way of saying nicely "not interested", or simply bad timing on all our parts.  But I am going to call my "party" this afternoon and, at the risk of sounding too desperate, tell her "Either something happens or nothing, but no more stalling!"

This whole figuring out how to do things "properly" is so hard! I'm not totally willing to just say, "one meeting and then let's get married." Nor does the American meet a guy, hang out, start dating for a while and see what happens work here. Where is the middle ground compromise? That's what I am trying to figure out.
