The trip to India was a bit of a nightmare. After an early start I flew from Manchester to Heathrow and bought a pair of Bose QC2 noise-cancelling headphones at Terminal 5. I had wanted some for years, and they are amazing.
Eventually I met up with my parents who were both in wheelchairs. It’s sad to see them like this.
The flight to Chennai took for ever. Only the booze and my Bose headphones & iPod made it bearable.
Arriving in Madras at 1:30 in the morning, I eventually managed to get my parents' dogs and arrange the transport to Mavanalla. BA wanted to provide two cars to Bangalore and couldn’t seem to understand that one car to the Nilgiris would save them money and us time. We left at about 4:40 am and drove. We had a couple of chai stops and arrived at Mavanalla at about 3:00 that afternoon – exhausted.
