Hello Naivedya , welcome to Gourmet India, do go through the Food Photo Blog and Food Photo Blog II topics. This should give you a start. If you like/ have a question of some of the photos in particular there then post back here and we should have some one help  answer these .

Also try to take photos of plating arrangements that you make and add them here, you should get a lot more feedback from Gourmet India members on the same as this is a continuously improving process.

Food Photography Tips and Tricks  should help you photograph your plating in a way you would like your guests to see.

Suresh Quick question do folks often use a Tawa like plating . I particularly like this style below.

Lamb chops and Ajwain aloo.

Naivedya, Let us know details of indian gravy dishes and kebabs you want to  design plating style. I have picked few Kabob images from GourmetIndia food picture gallery. This will sure boost your instinct for styling...some are not exactly kabab dishes but they can inspire kabab plating style. Do share your existing images with us.

The Chicken 65 (Or the way SH likes to call it Chicken 66 ) with crisp fresh fries as picks are perfect . On a lighter note, Suresh your next version Chicken 67 will have the plate edible too kya ?

I agree Tattva's plating for kebabs are the best I have seen.

Ajwain aloo sounds very interesting, never heard of it.

@Naivedya Kumar , Paneer Tikka food plating below as posted by SH. Also that orange chutney looks unique similar to what @Dhawal Raste mentions in this topic.
