Termz, at first glance it looks orange but that top skin fold is unique, some type of limboo? but color is orange so not sure what exact fruit is this?

Its from citrus family and skin can be peeled off like an orange and edible slices inside. Looks ugly, doesn't it ?

Today I made these nutrition packed ladoos. They are oil and ghee free, sweetened by honey and little light brown sugar, flavored with cardamom and nutmeg.

Guess which three ingredients I used to make these ladoos? sesame and nuts are not used. Try guessing any single ingredient or all three.

Quinoa, Oatmeal, Peanuts.

If you didn't mention about "no sesame", my first guess would have been Sesame seeds; they look like "Chimmili" - a sweet made in AP using black sesame seeds and dark jaggery (nalla bellam - in telugu) among the main ingredients.

My Grandmother would make them for us (me especially tongue.png) in advance of a week to 10 days of us visiting our native village during summer school vacation.

Termz, ladoos don't contain any of the guessed ingredient. I need to give one more clue because only one ingredient is Indian and rest two belong to American super food category...one of them is just like our Indian ingredient except color is different and that made me prepare these nutrition packed ladoos. These two super foods I tasted first time.

Suresh, You are right, there are too many super foods in the market and it was my turn to taste two new ones.

Puffed wheat smile.png

No Saucy, These ladoos are gluten free, oil and ghee free, nut free, vegan..I should have mentioned berry free too in the clue.

Hemp seed? moong dal? Chia seeds?

Bague, gets it right  for two super food ingredients . These ladoos contain Hemp seeds and Chia seeds so we are left with one more Indian ingredient. smile.png

Pumpkin seed, Soybean, Blackberry or Goji berry

EarnesTaster, I should have mentioned these are berry free. Bague has guessed two ingredients and Hemp seed do taste like pumpkin seeds.

Dried berries (Cranberries / blue berries)

Termz, no berries in ladoo but my next ladoo  recipe will have berries.

Bague has rightly guessed two ingredients...Check one more image to know third ingredient. These chia seeds I soaked in water, I had no idea they are going to swell  like Aleve (अळीव) that made me think of making ladoos because अळीव and coconut ladoos are made in India specially for nursing mothers and also considered good for lower back pain.

Chia was popular as a 'pet' before it became food:

Thanks, thanks!!! I'm so happy :-) This one was tough especially since the lighting in the first pic was tricky.

Suresh Chia is like tukmaria but not the same...
