Daal Ingredients : Equal proportions of Tur, Channa, Yellow Moong daal I like to use all three. Its more fun 1 med onion chopped 2 med tomatoes chopped 1 tsp tandoori masala 1/2 tsp amchoor / raw mango powder or 1 tsp tamarind paste 1 tsp red chilli powder 1 tsp kasuri methi 1 tsp cumin seeds 1 tsp mustard seeds (optional) 1 tbsp ghee 1 tsp gng paste 5-6 curry leaves 3-4 green chilli chopped (optional) Method: Soak daal for 2 hours in warm water. Pressure cook to 4 whistles with salt, turmeric and a piece of ginger. In a thick bottomed pan, add ghee, fry jeera, curry leaves, gng paste, red chilli powder and tandoori masala, add the onions, add the green chilli, add little water, lest the masala's burn. When the onions go soft add the chopped tomatoes. Fry till tomatoes go soft, add little water as you go along. I add both the onions and tomatoes together, as I like chunky pieces of both when I eat. Bung in the daal, stir everything to blend it all, add the kasuri methi now. Simmer on low heat, keep stirring so it dosent stick to the pan. Add water to the consistency you like. I like my daal thick like makhani, so I can it eat it with tandoori roti or puri. Garnish with amchoor and fresh chopped coriander leaves. Done. Enjoy ! Cheers Saucy

  8. Dinner @ Serafina, The Palladium, Phoenix Mills, Lower Parel, Mumbai  5th June 2013 @ 8.00pm   It was the most delightful food experience I had yesterday @ Serafina, Palladium, with my family.   The Ambiance 5/5. The restaurant looks as if its been plucked right out of Europe and planted here in our lovely city of Mumbai. The decor, the lighting, the furniture, the props. All very exquisite. Gorgeous.   The Food 5/5. Not a single dish we had had any fault in it. It was perfect. Amazing to look at, a visual treat for the eyes, and delicious to taste, happy palate They have a live Pizza counter with a wood fire oven right there in the open for all to see.    The Service 5/5 Right from the start, the meet n greet at the door, big smile, to the selection of the menu and taking the order. Very efficient staff and very polite. Special mention to Rahul and Bert.  The food selection is huge. Whatever your heart desires, they have it on the Menu. We had the Set Three Course Meal with Starter, Main and Dessert.   Value for money 5/5. @1386 pp for a 3 course meal, all inclusive with a glass of wine. Its just perfect on the wallet.   We had:   Starters: Bruschetta and Avacado n Baby Shrimp "San Pietro" Salad.   Main: Pizza Portifino (Tomato, Mozzarella, Home style Pesto and Pine Nuts) Chicken Breast Paillard (Hammered Chicken Breast with Arugula and Fresh Tomatoes) and Whole Wheat Penne Arabiatta with Cherry Tomato Sauce and Pamigiano. (Drool, drool)   Dessert: Mousse Al Cioccolato (Home made mousse made with Callebaut Dark Chocolate) and Focaccia Ala Nutella (Pancakes stuffed with Nutella) Awesome.   Overall an gastronomic delightful experience.  Highly recommend Serafina for special occasions. For a truly memorable experience.   Cheers ! Saucy     [attachment=4385:GI 2.jpg]   [attachment=4384:GI 1.jpg]
